Erin Phelps joined the Freedom Fund in 2016 and currently serves as Senior Adviser to the CEO based in New York. In this role, she focuses on thought leadership, strategy, donor influencing and advocacy.
Erin has worked with a range of social justice organisations including GoodWeave International, Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Service and Adhikaar. As a Fulbright researcher in Nepal, she studied the effects of labour migration on young people, worked with the Nepal Institute of Development Studies and presented her work at Tribhuvan University and the Nepal National Conference on Migration.
Erin received her BA in sociology from Pomona College and lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and gecko.
