We have just posted our impact figures for 2015, covering our programs in six global slavery hotspots. During the past year, our partners rescued 4,449 adults and children from slavery, placed nearly 10,000 at-risk and previously out-of-school children in education, and had a direct impact on 95,886 people.
This is nearly a doubling of impact compared with 2014 and represents a huge achievement for our partners and for the Fund itself in just its second year of operation. Our partners have now rescued 6,642 people living in slavery since the Fund’s inception, and had a direct impact on 151,000 people. Perhaps more importantly, we are now generating evidence about which interventions can work to help many more people around the world find freedom– as can be seen in this recent study by Harvard University of the approach used by our Indian partner, MSEMVS.

We are excited by this data but we are conscious that numbers are only part of the story. That’s why we are collecting narrative reports and qualitative evidence about the systemic changes that our partners are contributing to, which we will publish as part of our 2015 Annual Impact Report at the end of April.
