2017 Annual Impact Report

April 20, 2018 / Annual Impact Reports, Our Reports The Freedom Fund / @freedom_fund

Since the Freedom Fund began operations four years ago, we have directly engaged with over 390,000 men, women and children vulnerable to slavery. When it comes to fighting slavery, results matter, and to that end, we are delighted to share our 2017 Annual Impact Report.

Working with our frontline partners, in 2017 alone we liberated 5,150 victims from slavery, helped get 8,203 children back in school and impacted over 108,000 of the world’s most vulnerable individuals. While these numbers are important, they mean so much more when you think of the very real people they represent, from girls no longer sexually exploited in dance bars in Kathmandu, to men no longer enslaved on Thai fishing boats, to whole families liberated from bondage in brick kilns in India.

Our ambition is to free many more people than we can reach directly, by supporting our partners to become highly influential advocates of systems change. As we reflect on our impact in 2017, we draw inspiration from our partners, and we thank all of our supporters as we pursue our mission to end slavery.
