Chhori

Based in Kathmandu, Chhori is a small, women-led, grassroots organisation dedicated to reducing violence, trafficking, abuse, and exploitation among women and girls. The organisation seeks to protect women and girls, help them advocate for their rights, and empower them to increase awareness of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC) issues among their communities.

The goal of Chhori’s 2016-2017 project is to reduce the number of minors entering into and currently engaged in the adult entertainment sector. The project will work to protect the human rights of women and girls affected by or vulnerable to being exploited in the entertainment industry in Kathmandu valley and Nuwakot districts of Nepal. To achieve this end, Chhori will focus on three main objectives: facilitating mobile counseling camps, organising an advocacy initiative against CSEC, and supporting vulnerable groups in Nuwakot.
