Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE)

The Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE) aims to protect and support vulnerable adults and children across Ethiopia. FSCE works in both Addis Ababa and Amhara region, where its projects focus on raising the awareness of the risks, knowledge and skills needed for safer migration.

The Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE) will focus on the prevention of unsafe migration of young women and girls to the Middle East in Addis Ketema.

FSCE’s work will focus on:

  • Increased income amongst the poorest households in target areas.
  • Improving the knowledge and practice of migration amongst women and girls.
  • Strengthening collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and networking to end risky migration.
  • Improved services and support for returnees.

Ethiopia

The Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE) will work to significantly increase the practice of safer migration in the rural villages of Jamma, as a ‘safer migration zone’.

The project is focused on raising awareness of the risks, knowledge, and skills needed for both the community, girls and women to safely migrate. FSCE will also provide community conversations, house-to-house education, and peer group information on factors that lead to safer migration.

FSCE further aims to increase the household income and reduce vulnerabilities of source community’s through the support of vocational training skills.
