Helen Bamber Foundation

Over the coming years a huge number of survivors of slavery will be identified and will require support for recovery. This can only happen effectively if the individual survivors’ mental health needs are identified and treated in tandem to their other needs being met. This grant will enable the Helen Bamber Foundation to identify and outline the existing evidence of effective and feasible treatments for victims of slavery. The Foundation will submit a report to the Freedom Fund which will include recommended areas of research to determine the scope and nature of the mental health impact of modern slavery, how it can be screened and identified and then treated, in ways that are adaptable for training and practice in various regions and ‘hotspots’ across the world.
