Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) is an Ethiopian non-profit organisation originally founded in 1999 to combat the spread of the HIV epidemic. MSD has since expanded its work to focus on the socio-economic development of the wider community. It works with the Freedom Fund to reduce the vulnerability of women and girls to unsafe migration and trafficking through awareness creation, improved livelihoods, and community dialogue.

Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) was established as an indigenous community based organisation in 1999, and was formed from a HIV/AIDS prevention youth club in Gondar town within Amhara region. MSD works with a vision to see healthy and productive citizens who actively participate in the socio-economic development of the country.
With this grant MSD will aim to reduce vulnerability of women and girls to unsafe migration and trafficking through awareness creation, livelihood improvement, and community dialogues.
