Prayas JAC Society seeks to protect children’s rights, to help them meet their basic needs and to expand opportunities to achieve their full potential. In its work in the Rajasthan hotspot, Prayas aims to eradicate child bonded labour and child trafficking.
In 2018-2019, Prayas’s desired project goal is to work towards a progressive eradication of all kinds of child labour including child bonded labour and child trafficking from the state of Rajasthan. The key change that the project seeks is to develop structural mechanisms to enhance prevention, protection, and prosecution towards achieving the best interest of a child. Prevention requires providing dedicated support to community and government at the source state of Bihar; protection shall encompass structural implementation of the Juvenile Justice System and strengthening care and services for child survivors; prosecution shall involve collaborative facilitation of legal aid and justice delivery. All these objectives require strong and effective coordination among state governments and strengthening partnerships with all stakeholders involved.
