The Professional Alliance for Development (PADET) will work in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia to empower women and children and improve their wellbeing through participatory and sustainable development programs. As part of this grant PADET will:
1) Improve awareness and practice of safer migration among source communities and potential migrants to decrease the vulnerability of domestic servitude for women and girls migrating to the Middle East.
2) Economically empower at risk women as potential migrants, through providing vocational training for women to gain key skills and future employment.
3) Support local government structures and community based organisations to work against unsafe migration and trafficking and promote safer migration, through establishing multi-stakeholder groups in the community.
