The Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam Social Service Society (Don Bosco)

The Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam Social Service focuses on promoting children’s rights in the Tamil Nadu region of India. In its work with the Freedom Fund, Don Bosco focuses on 40 villages where there are a large number of adolescent girls working in spinning mills.

The Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam Social Service Society will work in 40 villages, where there are a large number of adolescent girls working in spinning mills.

The main activities will be: formation and strengthening of community support groups and adolescent groups, including training village volunteers in issues affecting young workers; empowering adolescents through knowledge of their rights, life skills training and access to health care; helping young workers to get back into education, skills training and find other kinds of work; and providing legal assistance.
